Cheryl Bartholow: ADI Principal / Education Specialist

Cheryl’s experience as museum educator and developer of educational programs and products (kits, workshops, as well as exhibits) is the basis for her expertise in working with audiences and integrating learning goals into the visitor experience. Over the past 20 years Cheryl has directed or developed exhibits, program initiatives, or strategic planning efforts for institutions that were starting up, expanding, or reinventing themselves. Before joining ADI she was the founding director of the Prospect Park Audubon Center, the first urban Audubon education center in the country. As Vice President of Programs at Brooklyn Children’s Museum, she oversaw exhibit development and educational- and collections-based programming. Her work at the Museum of the City of New York encompassed both exhibition and educational projects, and focused on introducing new audiences to the Museum’s rich collection. Cheryl’s experience as an active participant in the day-to-day operations of urban museums and visitor centers provides a unique insight into the development process.
