Matter Factory includes activities and hands-on demonstrations that introduce concepts of materials science and increase awareness of materials and technologies developed at the nano-level. Created with a focus on the 10-12 year age range.

Designed as an environment of playful machines and equipment that appear to be testing and manufacturing materials for new products—toys, electronics and sports equipment.

The exhibit is organized into five main areas: Feel Path, a sensory entry, Stuff Sorter, Super Small Science Lab, Property Testing Lab, and New Materials.
